Moving Tips
Make a list
Grab some paper and a pen. Make two columns, "keep" and "toss". Go through your belongings and write down the things that you could live without in the "toss" column. Only keep what you need. This will make you happy when it comes time to pack and move everything. As for the stuff in the "toss" column, donate it to Good Will, Salvation Army, or your local homeless shelter. This tossing project turns into a win win, less stress on you, and new stuff for those who need it.

Have plenty of supplies
Make sure to have more than enough boxes, tape, sharpies, bubble wrap, shrink wrap, and colored tape to ensure that all of your belongings are packed safely and effectively. You will SAVE MONEY on your moving help if all of your things are packed properly and ready to go when the Movers get to your house. Also, one of the biggest things that can slow down a moving crew more than a poor packing job, is a dirty house. If your movers have to walk around, move aside, or clean up a mess in order do their job quckly and effectively, the time it takes them to move all your stuff increases, costing you more money. SAVE MONEY by cleaning up and clearing a path from room to room in order to keep the job time low and money in your pocket.

Wardrobe boxes
Wardrobe boxes allow you to hang your during transport in order to eliminate doing a bunch of laundry on the other end. Unpacking is a large enough chore, the last thing you want to do is a bunch of laundry on top of all the stress of moving.

Utilize your resources
Buying the proper boxes for your Move can be very benifitial during packing and transport. But it can be a bit pricy. Utilize resources such as grocery and retails store. Some charge a small fee, but most will hold on to them for you and allow you to take them at no cost. The best boxes to use are Apple Boxes or Bannana Boxes, they are sturdy enough to handle books, tapes, CDs, DVDs, and so on. Most of these boxes come with lids as to secure your items effectively. In my experience over the years I have ran across customers that find used boxes on Facebook.com or Craigslist.org for little or no cost.

Purchasing new supplies
There are many different businesses that sell all the moving materials you need for your stress free moving day. To name a few: Menards, Wal-Mart, U-haul, Ace Hardware. The best place to go is U-haul, they are a one-stop-shop for all your moving materials, moving supplies, and moving equipment. If you are in the Grand Island, NE area, check out the U-Haul on South Locust for all your moving, hauling, packing, and storage needs.
